SCANNING & SURVEYING
INFRASTRUCTURE MONITORING
SCE has undertaken some of the major monitoring contracts in the Seattle area in the last 10 years. Monitoring utilities, structures or geotechnical survey points can be positioned and reliably read by our team of surveyors, with reports generated based on historic data compared to initial readings taken at the start of the works. This information, in the hands of the construction team, allows the project to move forward in confidence and take precise actions to avoid out of tolerance movements that can stop the works.

SOUND TRANSIT NORTHLINK N125
SCE assisted Sound Transit with its Northgate Link Extension project, which connects the Northgate, Roosevelt and U District neighborhoods to downtown Seattle and the airport. SCE provided the manual survey monitoring services for this 4-mile dual-bore light rail project and its cross-passages, three stations: Mapleleaf, Roosevelt and University district. We established tight vertical and horizontal control and read daily optical structure monitoring points, utility monitoring points, near surface monitoring points and extensometers.

SR 99 TUNNEL
SCE supported the settlement monitoring of the excavation and tunneling of this project as a sub-consultant to Sol-Data Incorporated (now Sixense), an expert construction deformation monitoring firm with strong international experience. SCE performed the professional field surveying; providing vertical and horizontal control, the field survey monitoring and engineering services throughout the excavation and boring of the tunnel for the duration of the project.
