SCANNING & SURVEYING
SURVEYING
SCE Survey teams are used to perform a variety of tasks, determining boundaries, topographical survey, boundary land adjustments, ALTAs and right-of-way surveys. Surveys may also include specific items such as large trees, utilities or other items of note to help the project

SEATTLE CITY LIGHT MEADOWBROOK
SCE prepared the topo survey for 42nd Ave NE 1000 lf street corridor for the undergrounding of the electrical network system per City of Seattle survey standards. Utilizing this topo, SCE designed the relocation of this overhead system along the west planter strip.

SR 516 & COVINGTON
SCE performed the topographic survey, street ROW to ROW, including all surficial features, storm and sanitary sewer rims and flow lines and underground utilities; deliverables in WSDOT format completed in AutoCAD and PDF. SR 516 is an urban principal arterial that experiences around 30,000 vehicles a day around 156th Avenue SE, and 38,000 vehicles a day at the eastbound ramps of SR 18. The total project length was ~1000 feet plus an additional extension of survey of surface features 300 feet on SR 516 and 100 feet on City roadways along driveways, etc. Located stream cross section every 50 feet with ordinary high water and test fits. Worked with landowners on right of entry.
To increase crew safety in this busy intersection, we used reflectorless technology which allowed us to spend less time in high hazard conditions, also providing a cost savings by reducing the need for traffic control. Work was completed on-time and under budget.

KING COUNTY TRANSIT TROLLEY
SCE performed survey and survey related services necessary to create accurate mapping using 3D Laser Scanning technology and Geographic Information System (GIS) data of the existing 75 miles of trolley infrastructure including poles, wire, switches, assemblies, feeders, power transformers and the surrounding built-environment, to create a complete set of trolley infrastructure drawings in PDF electronic format, as well as in standard CAD system software format.

I-405 RENTON TO BELLEVUE WIDENING AND EXPRESS TOLL LANES
SCE supplemented the WSDOT topographical survey for identifying location of existing utilities for pot holing during the design of the project.

SEATTLE PARKS AND RECREATION DEPARTMENT ON-CALL
SCE won an on-call survey contract with the Seattle Parks Department to provide all aspects of land survey services as needed. We performed a greenbelt boundary survey, topographical surveys of city gardens and play areas, roadways and wetlands. Our contract was extended twice for additional one-year periods.

BLIS
Bainbridge Island Kitsap Co. WA
SCE completed the topographical, ALTA and property line survey for a 5-acre parcel and historical site, with property records since before the 1900’s. The parcel remained with the original owners, the Cave family, until this time. There were challenges with the property line determinations and our PLS carried out in depth reviews of property records, deeds and title reports to establish accurate and defendable limits of access and ownership for the proposed subdivision. Our topographical survey included all significant trees 6” diameter and larger to include in the tree preservation plan and the site’s acre park. The project consists of 107 apartment units, 18 townhomes, 7 live/work lofts and a one-acre park.

SOUND TRANSIT PUYALLUP STATION
SCE provided control survey and exhibit for BNSF crossing as part of the Puyallup Station Parking and Access Improvements Project (Project) increasing parking at Puyallup Station for riders, whether they arrive by walking, bicycling, transit, or driving. The Project included construction of a new 500 space garage, a new surface parking with approximately 165 spaces, a new pedestrian bridge over 5th St NW and sidewalk enhancements.

PORT GAMBLE FOREST
Topographical survey and mapping of Stottlemeyer Parking site and Heritage Park Ride for Port Gamble Forest.

SEATTLE CITY LIGHT ASSET INVENTORY
SCE performed field survey and CADD mapping to assist Seattle City Light with identification of face of SCL power poles, riser, guy wires, fog line, curb line, roadway centerline and ROW centerline and photographs of the assets from SR 99 to SR 104 along 205th Avenue.

SEQUIM CITY HALL & POLICE HEADQUARTERS
SCE provided all surveying aspects of the project from topographical surveys to staking. The redevelopment of this site required a full topographical and utility survey as well as a short-plat to co-join the overall parcel with two additional residential properties to include the new City Hall and Police HQ building, parking and plaza. This project required the demolition of several existing structures, the inclusion of adjacent lots to the property by means of a Boundary Line Adjustment (BLA) to integrate it to the 2.5-acre site adjacent to the Clallam County Transit Center.
